Do not forget THE GREAT I AM

Whether we see it or not, God always provide for his children. We might not see it because we are so focused on other things. If you take a closer look at your life, you will realize that all that you are is because of God. The clothes you wear the food on your table, the cell phone you use and so on. I think I would count endlessly the things that God provides for you that even you yourself don’t even notice.

If we look closely at Deuteronomy 8, God is telling his people not to forget him. How often do you forget your Father, the great I am? Well, let me leave that to you to answer. Well, we were talking about provision right? Verse 2 says: “Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years; to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his command”. Wow, I don’t know about you but I’m deeply touched by this verse.

I can never imagine where I’d be if God just gave me everything I wanted in my own time. Well let’s just say I wouldn't have attained the spiritual growth I have today. I would think I got everything I have because I’m smart, or whatever good word I’d call myself. But I had to endure the process, it wasn't easy but day by day I overcame every little thing. And it’s not by might or power but it’s by God’s grace that I am where I am. God will humble you sweetie, he will test you, and when he is testing you, you’ll come to a point where you would think he has given up on you. But all this, he is doing to know where your intentions lie, whether or not you will obey all his commands on your deepest darkest days.

Verse 3: “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord”. Matthew 4: 4 “Jesus answered, it is written: ‘Man does not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’.

Sometimes God causes us to hunger in order to humble us. Do you think the world would be a better place if everyone was so proud? Instead of searching for things that will feed our flesh, let’s search for the word of God that feeds our spirit. God specifically tells us that man does not live by bread alone, but by the words that come from his mouth. Jesus was tempted by satan and he told satan the very same thing that God said in Deut 8:3.

For the forty years that the Israelites traveled in the desert, their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell. If God brings you to it he will bring you through it. A father disciplines his children all the time and so does God. I have faced many storms myself, I have been tested and all that, but one thing that kept me going is the LOVE God has for me. I have lost so much, cried myself to sleep and prayed liked crazy to get the things I have. God closes certain doors to protect you sweetheart. You can’t just jump into everything that comes your way because it looks good, that’s why God protects us by closing those doors.

Verse 7: ‘For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land- a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valley and hills 8: a land with wheat and barley, wines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey 9: a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.

I've just quoted three verses above talking about the things that God will bring you if you obey his commands. He told his children (the Israelites) what he would give them if they obey and lived by his commands. Maybe your “forty years” in the desert seems so hard and the grass looks greener on the other side. I say today, stay in your garden, water it and fertilize it, stay in God and he will stay with you. He promised that if you obey his commands he would give you a land that lacks nothing.

Romans 5:3-5 “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character and character hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the holy spirit, whom he has given us.

James 1:2-3 “consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance, perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Whatever it is that you are going through, consider it pure joy J

But there’s one thing that God warns us about. When he has provided for you, do not forget him. Do not forget the man that brought food on your table and clothed you. Do not be proud and forget the Lord your God. A life with God is a life worth living, whether you have plenty or none. Do not ever boast about the things you got, you have got zero power when it comes to making things happen sweetheart.

Verse 18 “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth”. If you want to have everything and lack nothing, obey God’s commands and do not boast in your on strength.

Last but not least, do not forget the GREAT I AMJ
