Do not forget THE GREAT I AM

Whether we see it or not, God always provide for his children. We might not see it because we are so focused on other things. If you take a closer look at your life, you will realize that all that you are is because of God. The clothes you wear the food on your table, the cell phone you use and so on. I think I would count endlessly the things that God provides for you that even you yourself don’t even notice.

If we look closely at Deuteronomy 8, God is telling his people not to forget him. How often do you forget your Father, the great I am? Well, let me leave that to you to answer. Well, we were talking about provision right? Verse 2 says: “Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years; to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his command”. Wow, I don’t know about you but I’m deeply touched by this verse.

I can never imagine where I’d be if God just gave me everything I wanted in my own time. Well let’s just say I wouldn't have attained the spiritual growth I have today. I would think I got everything I have because I’m smart, or whatever good word I’d call myself. But I had to endure the process, it wasn't easy but day by day I overcame every little thing. And it’s not by might or power but it’s by God’s grace that I am where I am. God will humble you sweetie, he will test you, and when he is testing you, you’ll come to a point where you would think he has given up on you. But all this, he is doing to know where your intentions lie, whether or not you will obey all his commands on your deepest darkest days.

Verse 3: “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord”. Matthew 4: 4 “Jesus answered, it is written: ‘Man does not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’.

Sometimes God causes us to hunger in order to humble us. Do you think the world would be a better place if everyone was so proud? Instead of searching for things that will feed our flesh, let’s search for the word of God that feeds our spirit. God specifically tells us that man does not live by bread alone, but by the words that come from his mouth. Jesus was tempted by satan and he told satan the very same thing that God said in Deut 8:3.

For the forty years that the Israelites traveled in the desert, their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell. If God brings you to it he will bring you through it. A father disciplines his children all the time and so does God. I have faced many storms myself, I have been tested and all that, but one thing that kept me going is the LOVE God has for me. I have lost so much, cried myself to sleep and prayed liked crazy to get the things I have. God closes certain doors to protect you sweetheart. You can’t just jump into everything that comes your way because it looks good, that’s why God protects us by closing those doors.

Verse 7: ‘For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land- a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valley and hills 8: a land with wheat and barley, wines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey 9: a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.

I've just quoted three verses above talking about the things that God will bring you if you obey his commands. He told his children (the Israelites) what he would give them if they obey and lived by his commands. Maybe your “forty years” in the desert seems so hard and the grass looks greener on the other side. I say today, stay in your garden, water it and fertilize it, stay in God and he will stay with you. He promised that if you obey his commands he would give you a land that lacks nothing.

Romans 5:3-5 “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character and character hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the holy spirit, whom he has given us.

James 1:2-3 “consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance, perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Whatever it is that you are going through, consider it pure joy J

But there’s one thing that God warns us about. When he has provided for you, do not forget him. Do not forget the man that brought food on your table and clothed you. Do not be proud and forget the Lord your God. A life with God is a life worth living, whether you have plenty or none. Do not ever boast about the things you got, you have got zero power when it comes to making things happen sweetheart.

Verse 18 “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth”. If you want to have everything and lack nothing, obey God’s commands and do not boast in your on strength.

Last but not least, do not forget the GREAT I AMJ

The summer body

Its winter and everyone is up and working preparing for summer. YES, everyone wants the sexy summer body. And hey I want a six pack too, LOL. A lot of social networks are flooded with pictures of people at the gym or simply working out at home. I’ve also been following people who are working out, eating healthy and making sure that they have the body they desire. Ever since I’ve lost weight, I don’t want to go back to that fully figured body. I love the way I look now although looks aren’t everything in life. I have been watching what I eat ever since I lost weight although sometimes I stray away.

I’m not saying people shouldn’t work out, be healthy and have great bodies. I’m totally about that life. But what I’m trying to say is if we prepared for the coming of Christ like we prepare for summer, we would be much better beings. If we fussed a lot about how Christ is going to come like a thief and watch what we do as we watch what we eat, God would just sit and smile on his throne and say “That’s my son/daughter whom I love and is preparing for the kingdom and trying hard enough not to stray away”.

I’ve lost a total of 16kg and I must say I couldn’t be more happier about it. I used to wear size 38/40 now I’m on 32/34. Honestly I don’t want to go back, I want to push harder until I reach my goal weight which is 55kg. This means I am 7kg away from achieving my ultimate weight goal.

Well, enough about my weight. What I’m trying to say if we set spiritual goal for ourselves like we set weight goals, we would be much better people, lacking nothing and not being shaken by the devil. Why not start from I want to read one bible verse a day, I’m sure God would be pleased by something as little as that. That you are making effort to hear what he has to say to you. Why not start by eliminating those people or things that disturb your walk with him. We watch what we eat when we are trying to lose weight, when it comes to having a relationship with Christ, we should watch who we associate ourselves with. If the Holy Spirit tells you that they aren’t good for you, get rid of them. Yes it’s hard, it’s like getting rid of junk food, and junk food is sweet and tasty but not good for the body.

Acts 3: 19-21 Repent, then, and turn to GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord 20 and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you- even Jesus 21 he must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
As you get rid of that unhealthy food in order to get that summer body, why not get of that sinful life of yours too. You can’t just store up treasures on earth and not have anything stored up in heaven. Repent and turn to God. I mentioned that I don’t want to get back to the way I was, same goes to life, don’t go back to sin, turn to God and stay focused on God only.

Phil 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are preparing for summer, one thing I know for sure is that you are eagerly waiting for that summer body, if only you put much effort on your spiritual growth and eagerly wait for the Lord Jesus Christ. He is coming back, I don’t know when but one thing I know is that he will come back. Prepare for him, be healthy spiritually like you are trying so hard now to be healthy and lose weight.

2Tim 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. This scripture is powerful neh…. Yeap I feel convicted. The crown when preparing for summer is a sexy body, mind my language. You know you will get it because you have been working hard for it. But my question is, are you going to get the crown of righteousness??? Are you working hard and putting effort in the way of the Lord, are you obedient enough, do you deserve to be called the righteous one of Christ?? Well, let me leave that to you to answer.

Lastly, 1Peter 2: 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1John 2: 28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appear we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. You work out for that summer body because you want to wear a bikini, you don’t want to wear that bikini with fat and a big belly, Lol, Yes you don’t want to be ashamed. Same goes to when Christ comes back; you don’t want your life to be so dirty that you will be ashamed and not confident when he comes back. Lets make effort to preparing for the coming of Christ like when we make effort to have nice bodies during summer.

PS I love you God, I love you Jesus and I love you Holy SpiritJ
